How to Pass JLPT N1 and N2 Reading Sections
This time we have a question from @ThatJapanGirl, asking for advice on the reading section of the JLPT exam.
読解, as the section is known, is probably the most difficult section of the test (and one of the most important).
There are a few strategies I used for when I took the test in 2013 and 2014 (N2 and N1 respectively), which I passed on the first attempt. I will share those strategies here.
Memorizing lists of words and kanji is quite obvious, and important. I will not be going into that here, because most people do this part anyway. Many are often disappointed to find, that memorizing so many words and kanji simply isn’t enough to help you pass the reading section. Remember, this is a comprehension game, and not a vocab one.
I basically believe there are 3 main areas we need to look at, and I go into those areas here in this presentation. Remember, if you have any requests, please get in touch on Twitter @puchi_peri and I’ll answer your question on YouTube! Every few weeks, I go through recent YouTubes and have a live discussion/Q & A on Periscope.
